Lucknow: The 63rd birth anniversary of Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta, founder of BBD Group, former Union Minister and Mayor of Lucknow, was celebrated with a commitment to service and a firm resolve.
Late Dr. Akhilesh Das has done incomparable work in the field of education and sports. His dream of making BBD Educational Group world class, free ambulance service and social service is coming true today. With their inspiration, all the free services provided to the people by BBD Group Chairperson Alka Das Gupta and BBD Group President Viraj Sagar Das have become a lifesaver today.
The historical Ganesh Mahotsav has become a symbol of religious heritage. BBD Group, as part of its social service resolve, organizes programs like lighting bonfires at every intersection of the city in winters, distributing blankets to the poor, setting up ponds to quench people’s thirst with cold water in hot summers, and organizing food distribution programs from time to time. Through this, he is playing a leading role in the field of social service. It would not be an exaggeration to say that social service is the sole aim of BBD Group.
On the occasion of his birth anniversary, politicians, educationists, sports personalities and all members of the BBD family remembered Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta with reverence in the country’s capital New Delhi and Lucknow as well as in various districts of entire Uttar Pradesh.
Participating in the birth anniversary programs, Viraj Sagar Das said that our father had only one goal – how to serve the people of Lucknow, how to take them forward in the field of education and sports. Whether he was the mayor or built a badminton academy, we are working through Akhilesh Das Foundation with his inspiration, all of you are connected with us, with your love we are continuously moving forward. Our effort is to keep his name alive. We are working through BBD Group to take Lucknow forward not only in India but in the world in the field of education and sports, for this we need love from all of you. A seminar was organized by Dr. Akhilesh Das Foundation at Purana Qila. In which mainly Viraj Sagar Das paid his respects by offering flowers on the portrait of Dr. Akhilesh Das. On this occasion, BBD Group Chairperson Alka Das, Vice Presidents Devanshi Das and Sonakshi Das, Chief Executive Director, BBD Educational Group RK Aggarwal and all members of the BBD family were present.
A huge Bhandara was organized by Dr. Akhilesh Das Foundation next to Hanuman Temple in Hazratganj. After this, a gala luncheon was organized by Anup Kanojia at KGMU intersection in the afternoon. Later in the afternoon, Tehri feast by Kamal Balmiki at Parivartan Chowk intersection, Bhandara by Sparsh Darbari at Munshi Pulia intersection, distribution of food and fruits to patients and attendants by Mahesh Rathore at Neera Hospital Aliganj, fruits by Jayshree Priya Gupta at Saint Mother Teresa Ashram Sapru Marg Hazratganj distribution was done. After this, a program was also organized in BBD University in the evening.
